When I first moved to Nevada in 2017 I was not happy with the old buildings and trash that appeared to be littering the landscape.
It took a while to appreciate that these are relics of our past.
This area is rich with history regarding the western expansion of the American Immigrant and the frenzy that occurred upon the discovery of gold in our neighbor state of California.
Nevada is called the Silver State because of the rich silver ore deposits and other mining opportunities.
There are over 300 mountain ranges in our state alone and I wish I could explore every inch of it.
I love astro photography and one of my favorite things is incorporating the history of this state into the photos I take.

Middlegate Grape Hyacinth
While having lunch at Middlegate, a historic stop on Highway 50 (The World's Loneliest Highway) I saw these lovely Grape Hyacinth along the porch of the restaurant.
Thank goodness I had my camera.

Saturn is the

My response was, "I have this idea."

Aurora Stamp Mill - Composition
This is a composition of one of the few remaining structures in the ghost town of Aurora, NV.

I created this composition as a birthday present to my husband to ha
Aurora Stamp Mill - Star Trails
This photo of the Stamp Mill in Aurora, NV places the North Star above the mill and allows the rotation of the earth to create a beautiful display of stars.
The original intention was to include longer star trails but because the skies were so void of light pollution the image offered thousands of star points.
